How Guasha Detox Facial Treatment Works

Guasha has traditionally been used to scrape the skin to relieve pain. A massage tool, usually jade or other precious stones are used. In recent years, guasha has been adapted into the facial treatments to detox the skin. The skin scraping technique effectively removes toxin, reduce facial puffiness and lifts skin for a more youthful appearance. Compared to body guasha, facial guasha is light and gentle massage which is suitable for people with delicate and sensitive skin. Some pressure may be felt as the guasha tool goes over your face, however it should not be too painful.

Treatment Process

The first step is to cleanse the face of impurities and any residue makeup, followed by a double deep cleanse.

Next, a moisturizing essence or essential oil is applied before starting the facial guasha.
The therapist uses jade guasha tool to massage acupressure points and gently scrap all over your face, paying special attention to the cheekbones, temples and brow area.
At the end of the facial guasha, a hydrating mask is applied to soothe skin.
